Merman Farm Accommodation

Formerly a farmhouse, Merman Farm is a traditional, stone built home that has been fully restored to offer high quality accommodation for up to 12 people in five bedrooms, plus an attic room.

The owners of Merman Farm have maintained all the character and charm of the original farm house and combined this with modern design and home comforts, ensuring the most luxurious accommodation for your stay in this beautiful part of the Peak District National Park.

The spacious French oak kitchen features a gas-fired AGA set into its own beautiful brick fireplace, adjoining a sitting area with TV – ideal for socialising whilst cooking up a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen also has a microwave, additional two-ring electric portable hob, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

The separate dining room has a table large enough to seat 10 people comfortably (2 extra chairs are provided to seat 12), perfect for sociable get-togethers.

Merman Farm features a spacious lounge with comfy settees, a 42″ flat screen TV with Sky Movies and Sky Sports, a DVD/CD player and a large wood-burning stove – perfect for get-togethers with friends and family. All wood is provided and included during your stay, so whatever the time of year you can be sure to be warm and cosy.

There is also a WC and hand basin downstairs.

Wifi is available throughout the house.

Upstairs at Merman Farm you’ll find five bedrooms, plus an additional attic room. Three of the bedrooms feature Super King Size beds that can be converted to twins on request. These rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a shower, basin and WC.

Two further bedrooms – one a standard double and one a twin – have shared use of the large, family bathroom. This has a large bath, separate shower, basin and WC – perfect for trips away with young children.

In the bright and airy attic there is an additional twin bed.

Two cot beds and two high chairs are available on request.

Your dogs are welcome here too – up to two pets are welcome during any stay at Merman Farm!

Outside at Merman Farm you’ll find a patio area with gas barbecue and outdoor seating, ideal for enjoying al fresco dining in the fresh Peak District air.

A spacious, 1 acre paddock lawned area is 25m away, within the grounds of the property, alongside off-road parking for up to five cars.

Merman Farm is located just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of the village of Tideswell. Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park, right on the border of the White Peak and Dark Peak areas. It is a lively, picturesque village with a host of amenities, and is famous for its fine church known as ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’.

Tideswell enjoys easy access to the towns of Buxton and Bakewell – ideal for shopping, pubs, cafes or a visit to the famous Buxton Opera House.

The Peak District is renowned as a world class destination for outdoor pursuits and Tideswell is perfectly placed for the outdoor enthusiast. It’s an easy walk from the village to explore Miller’s Dale, or head to the more rugged peaks of the Hope Valley to the north and climb Mam Tor or Kinder Scout.

Climbers will enjoy the easy access to the gritstone of Stanage Edge, while keen cyclists can take advantage of the traffic-free cycling trails of the Monsal Trail, High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail, riding through stunning countryside.

If you’re looking for a bit of history, then the beautiful country house estates of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are only a short drive away.
