A well-stocked welcome box awaits your arrival, including one of the owner’s delicious home-baked cakes, a pot of High Ashes Farm homemade berry jam, milk, a locally baked bread loaf, 6 free-range eggs, tea, ground coffee, and chilled Owlet apple juice.

Cruck Barn Cottage is ideally located for exploring The Peak District National Park, with many countryside walks right from the door, including nearby Linacre Reservoirs which has an abundance of wildlife.

In around 10-15 minutes, visitors can enjoy so many walks, stately homes, villages and towns.

Take in the fabulous gritstone edges of Curbar, Froggatt and Baslow on a wonderful 8 mile route, or explore the magnificent grounds of The Longhaw Estate and the picturesque Padley Gorge. Impressive Chatworth House Estate, with beautiful gardens and acres of deer park is a fabulous place to spend the day and relax with a picnic at the side of the river. There are so many pretty villages within easy reach too, such as Calver and the historical village of Eyam.

For those enjoy a spot of shopping, the market town of Bakewell is just the same distance, with a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and independent shops. Just a few minutes further and you can be browsing the villages of Hathersage and Tideswell, and enjoying so many beautiful walks, or enjoying fish and chips in the ‘seaside town’ of Matlock Bath.

Nearby Barlow is a lovely village with three fabulous pubs serving delicious home cooked food.
