Grange Barn is a luxury retreat for two people on the first floor of a beautifully renovated stone barn. Nestled in the heart of the chocolate box village of Ashford in the Water, Grange Barn is the ideal location for a romantic break and perfect for honeymooners. With stylish open plan living accommodation, wood burning stove and lawned garden with bistro set, it’s the perfect place to snuggle up and relax, whatever the weather! Ashford in the Water itself has two charming village pubs and a lovely tea room within walking distance, or head out to nearby Bakewell for a romantic evening meal in one of their many wonderful restaurants.

Open Plan Living

You enter Grange Barn through your own private entrance, via a traditional stone staircase. The living accommodation is light and spacious, yet sweet and cosy with a wood burning stove, exposed timber beams and original stone walls. There is a snug sofa and smart TV, perfect for those cosy nights in. A cute table for two is situated next to the window, with views over this picturesque village, ideal for romantic breakfasts and evening meals.

The kitchen area is crisp and clean and equipped with everything you could need, including oven, hob, microwave and all essential crockery and cookware.

The Bedroom

Across the landing, the spacious king-sized bedroom at Grange Barn is also bright and airy. It has been stylishly decorated with luxurious bed linen, calming soft furnishings, and plenty of storage space. There is also a modern shower room with soft fluffy towels.

Private Garden

Outdoors you have access to a large lawned area with a bench and bistro table, where you can soak up the morning sun with a peaceful coffee or enjoy a romantic alfresco evening meal. Although situated on a non-working farm, set within the grounds of the owners home, you will often see farm animals grazing in the nearby fields. Free car parking is also available directly outside the back of the property.

Location

Ashford in the Water is a delightful, picturesque village with a gorgeous Sheepwash Bridge over the river. The country lanes are lined with limestone cottages and pretty gardens and you’ll also find two village pubs, tea rooms and a traditional village store.

Take a stroll to nearby Bakewell where you will find a great selection of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Head for the nearby beautiful Youlgreave and Lathkill Dale with your picnic blanket for a stunning river walk with an abundance of flora, fauna and wildlife. Just a short drive away are the fabulous Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House, both steeped in history, with grand gardens and a beautiful deer park. For those feeling a little more adventurous and energetic, why not hire bikes at the nearby traffic free Monsal Trail, perhaps hiring a bicycle made for two?!
