Perfectly located near Over Haddon the edge of Lathkill Dale in the Peak District National Park, Mandale Campsite offers the opportunity to reconnect with nature on this peaceful, working farm with spacious pitches and idyllic surroundings. If you’re looking for a touch more comfort, The Reckoning House Bunk Barn provides accommodation and facilities for groups of up to 12 people, while Standlow Lodge Log Cabin offers a cosy space for 4. Mandale Campsite has been welcoming returning campers for over 20 years and the team can’t wait to welcome seasoned campers and first-timers to see what all the fuss is about!
Mandale Campsite has two fields available to the public. The Main Field is flat and spacious, ideal for families and small groups, offering ample room for setting up camp and enjoying the outdoors. Here there are also three electric hook-up pitches. The Second Field is on a slight slope but is still a very peaceful and picturesque setting.
To ensure a tranquil environment for all guests, Mandale Campsite has a policy against large groups and loud music. Open campfires are not permitted but disposable barbecues are allowed so you can rustle up your breakfast before you head out, listening to the bird song and surrounding farm animals, or enjoy an alfresco barbecue under the stars. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome, but due to the neighbouring farm animals, Mandale Campsite request that dogs are always kept on a lead please.
Mandale Campsite has a long history of welcoming schools and educational groups and understands the specific needs of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. They are on hand to ensure a safe and successful experience for students and teachers alike. The dedicated Duke of Edinburgh field provides ample space for students to relax and have fun, and the flat terrain makes pitching tents a breeze! Located close to Lathkill Dale nature reserve, Mandale Campsite provides the ideal location too.
The Duke of Edinburgh campsite is open from March till the end of October.
Steeped in history, The Reckoning House Bunk Barn at Mandale Campsite offers unique and comfortable group accommodation. Originally a gathering place for lead miners to collect their wages, this converted barn is now a sociable space for groups of up to 12 who are looking for a more comfortable camping experience with underfloor heating!
Guests can prepare meals in the kitchen, featuring fridge freezer, gas hobs and a microwave, which can be enjoyed in the dining area. Essential pots and pans are also provided.
There are two bedrooms, each with three bunk beds, and a separate toilet and shower. Guests need to bring their own pillows and sleeping bags.
Please note, there is a two night minimum stay at weekends and a three night minimum stay on Bank Holiday Weekends.
The Reckoning House is open all year round.
Standlow Lodge Log Cabin at Mandale Campsite is a delightful, heated log cabin, comfortably sleeping four people in two separate bedrooms, providing a cosy retreat for couples, small families, or friends.
There is a well-equipped kitchen, including oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and essential pots and pans to enable guests to prepare a meal to enjoy at the dining table, or gathered around the warmth of the electric fire in the lounge area watching the TV with FreeSat.
There is one double bedroom room and one twin room, together with small bathroom with toilet shower.
Standlow Lodge boasts its own private garden, complete with outdoor table & chairs and a barbecue, where you can soak up the tranquility of these peaceful surroundings.
Standlow Lodge is open all year round.
Lathkill Dale, a stunning nature reserve, lies right on the doorstep of Mandale Campsite and walkers can enjoy an abundance of walks right from the site, discovering the diverse flora and fauna. Nearby Arbor Low Stone Circle is well worth a visit too, offering breathtaking panoramic views from 1,200 feet above sea level.
Mandale Campsite is just one mile from the pretty village of Over Haddon with narrow lanes lined with pretty stone cottages and a fabulous pub serving food, with most amazing views over picturesque Lathkill Dale. The popular village of Monyash with a village green and pond is also close by and has another great pub and a play area for children.

For those who like to browse the shops and enjoy eating out in the bars, restaurants and tea rooms, the delightful market town of Bakewell is just a ten minute drive, and the spa town of Buxton, renowned for its magnificent architecture and impressive arts, can be reached in just 20 minutes.
Magnificent Chatsworth House with beautifully landscaped gardens, a farm shop, farm park and acres of grounds to explore, is just a fifteen-minute drive away. Likewise, in just fifteen minutes you can visit glorious Haddon Hall, one of the most beautiful medieval manor houses in the country, with the most romantic grounds and landscaped gardens.
