Situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park at Hulme End in the Manfiold Valley, Bank House Farm Campsite is a spacious, family-run caravan and camping site. Set within the 15 acre grounds of a Victorian farmhouse, with the tranquil River Manifold meandering through it, this site offers riverside camping at its finest! Surrounded by breath-taking views of the Manifold Valley, it’s a truly relaxing, picturesque place to stay, with easy access to so many other Peak District favourite destinations. Even better, there’s a fabulous pub just across the road, serving hearty breakfasts and delicious home cooked meals, and a lovely tea room with bike hire just down the road!

Immaculate Facilities

Open from March to October, Bank House Farm Campsite has hard standing and grass pitches. Choose from a full selection including fully serviced, electric hook up, non-electric, or freestyle meadow field pitches, where tents, campervans, caravans, motorhomes, and roof top tents are all welcomed year after year.

Bank House Farm Campsite prides itself on providing a clean, friendly campsite for couples and families, with immaculate facilities, and even boasts an award-winning loo! There are separate male and female toilet and shower blocks, together with a family/disabled shower room too, all with free hot showers and underfloor heating. The ladies are provided with an all-important hairdryer and vanity area, while the men have the use of electric shaver points.

You’ll always receive a friendly welcome at Bank House Farm Campsite reception, where you will find a handy on-site shop, stocking all those camping and BBQing essentials, together with fire pits that are available to hire, to enjoy good old-fashioned camping at its best. Keep your eye on the notice board too, to see when the pizza van and chippy van are due to visit!

There’s a great undercover pot washing area, with plenty of room, which also has a washing machine and dryer, as well as handy fridge/freezers for the campers – essential for keeping the beers cool! There is also a chemical disposal area.

For those wishing to bring their own bikes to make use of all the excellent cycling trails in the area, there is bike storage available too.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and there’s a dog walking area available for them, as well as a separate children’s play field.

Most importantly, to keep the teenagers happy – there’s free Wi-Fi across the site!

Superb Location

The location of Bank House Farm Campsite is just superb! Surrounded by sweeping countryside in the Manifold Valley, in the heart of the Peak District, you will be spoilt for choice for places to explore – including the fabulous pub just across the road!

The site’s location is handy for many wonderful villages and towns. The picturesque village of Hartington is just 1.5 miles away, with a lovely selection of shops, pubs, a duck pond and even a cheese shop!  Just 1.5 miles in the other direction, you have another lovely village pub in Warslow. Either can easily be reached by The Manifold Way, an 8-mile route (mainly traffic free), taking you through beautiful countryside. This is just 200 yards from the site and is perfect for bikes and pushchairs. (Bikes can be hired from Hulme End if required). You can also join the Tissington Trail from nearby Hartington, so it really is a great base for cyclists.

In less than half an hour you can be browsing, shopping and eating in the wonderful towns of Buxton and Ashbourne, enjoying fish and chips by the boating lake in Matlock, or eating traditional Bakewell Pudding in the delightful town of Bakewell. Many places can be accessed using the bus, which stops right near the site.

However, it’s the countryside on your doorstep that’s the real attraction at Bank House Farm Campsite! The scenery is simply stunning, with so many walking routes to choose from, right from the door. Just 1.5 miles away is the hidden gem of Beresford Dale where you can enjoy riverside paths, woodland walks, weirs, wildflowers, and an abundance of birdlife. Thor’s Cave, a magnificent natural cavern, is just 4 miles away, which can easily be accessed via the paths from nearby Wetton Mill, which has another lovely tearoom, and a stream to paddle in during the warmer months. Pretty villages and beauty spots such as Alstonefield, Monyash and Dovedale are just a few miles away – the list is endless!
