Fabulous Location

Boulder Field Cabin is perfectly situated in Birchover, ideal for exploring the Peak District National Park – if you ever want to leave the cabin itself of course, or its five-acre grounds which are free for you to explore!

The village of Birchover is just a 10-minute stroll down the quiet lanes from Boulder Field Cabin, where you’ll find two village pubs, both serving delicious food, and one with its own microbrewery!

This historic village has beautiful walks right from the door, including Rowtor Rocks on the edge of the village, with a mysterious system of caves, carvings and lookout points created in the 17th Century by the village parson. Or the peaceful expanse of Stanton Moor, clad in heather and bilberries in the summer months, where you’ll also find the Nine Ladies Stone Circle.

For those who want to venture further afield, Birchover is just 5 miles from the lovely town of Matlock, with cafés, independent shops and a boating lake, and also close to the inland ‘seaside town’ of Matlock Bath, with its vibrant arcades and wealth of visitor attractions.

For those who prefer to browse picturesque gardens and stately homes, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with the beautiful medieval manor house of Haddon Hall just three miles away, and slightly further the magnificent Chatsworth House with its fabulous deer park.

There are many pretty villages nearby too, each with their own charm and more footpaths to traverse, such as YoulgreaveStanton in Peak and Winster. For those who like to browse the shops, the delightful market town of Bakewell is a just a 10-minute drive, with a lovely selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as its popular weekly market!

It’s doubtful you’ll ever want to leave the magic of Boulder Field Cabin, but if you do, there’s so much for you to enjoy!
