Highfield House Farm Shop is a premier farm shop, selling their own prime cut meats, other locally sourced top quality produce and their award-winning home-made pies, pastries and cakes. Visitors travel from all over the region to stock up on Highfield House Farm Shop’s finest produce, which is all sourced from nearby farms and regularly supplied to many top notch bars and restaurants in the Peak District!

Choose from award winning sausages, of which there are a dozen varieties to select from, including Tomato and Olde English, or maybe an award-winning pork pie, baked using a old family recipe, or a delicious homemade quiche. With daily freshly-made cakes, there’s always something sweet to tempt you too, such as Highfield House Farm Shop’s legendary Bakewell Tart.

The fridge is always bursting with the finest cuts of meats at Highfield House Farm Shop, with everything you can think of from steaks and joint, bacon smoked on their very own smoker, through to homemade burgers, excellent barbecue packs, and a great choice of carefully-selected cheeses. You can also purchase fresh, locally-sourced fruit, salad and vegetables here too.

Not only that, but Highfield House Farm Shop also sells a great selection of gifts, homewares, and greetings cards, together with honey from two local hives and delicious ice cream from Hope Valley & Coldeaton.

Homemade Food in a Homely Atmosphere

The Tea Rooms at Highfield House Farm Shop draw locals and visitors from far and wide, with all produce supplied by the shop itself or other local suppliers. There’s room for 40 people, with both indoor and undercover outdoor seating, creating a wonderful place to enjoy homemade food in a warm, homely atmosphere. 



Hearty breakfasts such as a full English, pancakes, breakfast rolls and toast are served daily from 9am – 11.30am, and you can also enjoy 12 varieties of refreshing teas, plus delicious coffees roasted in Derbyshire.

There’s a great lunchtime menu with many home-baked goods. Enjoy freshly baked quiche with salad and coleslaw, or maybe a ploughman’s lunch, or fresh sandwiches and toasties, with a pork pie or sausage roll. Or maybe a cheese scone with cream cheese and bacon?! They all sound delicious don’t they?!

Once you’ve tried one of Highfield House Farm Shop’s scones, you’ll soon see why the locals call the lovely lady that bakes them, ‘The Scone Queen’. Freshly made in a variety of savoury and sweet flavours, such as cheese and bacon, choc chip, and cherry & white chocolate, to name just a few, they can be enjoyed as they are or as part of an indulgent cream tea! 

In addition, there’s also a daily selection of home-made cakes such as moreish brownies, rich chocolate cake, tangy lemon meringue and a daily variety of special Bakewell Tarts, including traditional Cherry Bakewell or delicious Apple Bakewell. Afternoon teas are also available on a pre-order request!

There’s also a great choice of drinks at Highfield House Farm Shop, from flavoured sparkling waters to fresh juices, to creamy milkshakes, made less than 5 miles from the tea rooms. As well as fabulous coffees and teas, you can also enjoy a creamy hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.  

Highfield House Farm also has a great Toddler Menu, so there will be plenty to keep the younger ones entertained, while you sit back, relax and enjoy every mouthful of these home-baked delights!

Tuesday – Saturday: Shop 8am to 5pm, Tea Rooms 8am to 3pm

Highfield House Farm Shop and Tea Rooms is close to open countryside, ideally located just 5 miles from the town of Chesterfield, 4 miles from the lovely village of Ashover and only 2.5 miles from the pretty village of Holymoorside. On the edge of the Chatsworth Estate, the Farm Shop is only 6 miles from the gorgeous hamlet of Beeley. Stunning walks can be enjoyed from each of these locations, such as Ashover Rock with fabulous far-reaching views, Holymoorside with numerous walks over the moor, blanketed with heather in the summer months, and Beeley where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll to magnificent Chatsworth House and grounds.  

There are also walks from the door of Highfield House Farm Shop to Stonedge Chimney with more beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and to the relaxing Stonedge Woods.

Highfield House Farm Shop is great for those enroute or returning from the market towns of Matlock, Matlock Bath or Bakewell, which are all just a short drive away, or for those enjoying the many other wonderful villages and walking routes that the Peak District National Park has to offer.
