Gifts for All Occasions

Delightful Living’s very own range of gifts are designed and personalised to order. They make wonderful, unique gifts, which can be ordered using Delightful Living’s online shop, or bought in-store at The Courtyard Barn. The personalised products are made by the passionate owners themselves, who first started out on their venture back in 2008, making a distressed wooden sign from a discarded piece of wood they found in the shed when they moved house. This led them to the beautiful store that they are so proud to own today, full of loveliness that everyone wants to own!

Every item produced by  Delightful Living is designed using upcycled wood, prints on natural cottons and linens, as well as pretty keepsake tins and prints on metal. There really is something for everyone here!

As well as the many products made by Delightful Living themselves, their store in Eyam is jam-packed full of other fabulous gifts from other selected sources, many of which are local to The Peak District.

Delightful Living focus their attention on both seasonal products and gifts for all the family, whatever the celebration. From Births, Christenings, Birthdays and the BIG Birthdays, to Weddings, Anniversaries and Mother’s & Father’s Day Gifts. Then of course there are delightful garden accessories in the summer months, and an inspirational range of Christmas gift ideas.

If you aren’t able to visit just yet, then be sure to check out Delightful Living’s online store, where you can order a great selection of personalised house signs, garden signs, tins, prints and much, much more! Check it out for yourself here!

Historic Eyam & Countryside Walks

Eyam itself is aptly delightful! This wonderful village attracts visitors to the Peak District year after year, due to its fascinating history and stunning surrounding countryside.

Back in the 1600s Eyam was the site of an outbreak of the bubonic plague, so the locals decided to quarantine themselves from the rest of the world for 14 months, meaning that nobody could leave or enter the village during that time. One of the Boundary Stones, where food and medicines were left for the residents, can still be seen today, as can many more of the fascinating historic features of this wonderful village, providing for a really interesting day out, which is obviously even more intriguing since our own recent quarantines!

Today, Eyam is a beautiful village where the narrow streets are lined with pretty cottages and impressive houses, many with spectacular gardens which are open to the public in the summer on a prestigious garden open day. Not forgetting Eyam Hall, which is open to the public for tours, and Eyam Museum, which tells the story of this unique village. Eyam also a small selection of shops, cafes and tea rooms, plus a wonderful village pub, so there’s plenty to fill your day here.

Eyam is surrounded by beautiful countryside and numerous picturesque walks. Perhaps take a stroll over to nearby Foolow with its pretty village pond, or to Bretton with far reaching views. Another popular walk is the 5.5 mile circular route to Stoney Middleton, another historic and pretty village.
