Founded by Claire and her partner Mike, this professional agency was born out of real experience. They started their business after struggling to find a reliable, high-quality management service for their own holiday cottage. They knew exactly what was missing from the market, and they built a business to fix it and help others in the same boat.

Today, they provide a flexible, comprehensive wrap-around service for cottage owners to give them peace of mind and help them secure those five-star reviews! They don’t just rush through a property with a duster, they offer everything from linen hire and deep cleaning to emergency maintenance, gardening, and full guest communication and holiday cover. By combining professional systems with a genuinely friendly, local approach, they take the hard work out of holiday cottage management, allowing owners to enjoy the rewards of their beautiful property.

At The Welcome Team, the staff are deliberately called ‘housekeepers’ rather than ‘cleaners’ because Claire recognises that their role is so much more than just vacuuming floors and wiping down surfaces. They act as the eyes and ears of your holiday cottage business. When a housekeeper walks into your cottage, they look at it from a guest’s perspective, checking the finer details such as that the lightbulbs are working, the batteries in the TV remote are charged or a spot dripping tap before your guest does. They understand that a clean, beautifully presented and fully functioning cottage is the absolute foundation of a successful rental.

The Welcome Team housekeepers are trained to prepare a property to a professional, homely standard every single time. They follow a rigorous checklist that includes deep cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms, polishing glass, and ensuring floors are spotless. As they are “housekeepers” and not just cleaners, they take responsibility for the inventory too. They will let you know if the wine glasses are running low or if a frying pan has seen better days. It’s about presenting a home that feels fresh, clean, and perfectly presented for that crucial first walk-in moment. Every session concludes with that walkthrough video, ensuring you see the quality for yourself before the key turns in the lock.

  • Premium Laundry Services: The Welcome Team prides itself on washing bedding to a crisp, spotless standard every single time!  You can choose to have them wash your own linen, or you can hire hotel-grade white satin stripe bed linens and fluffy towels directly from them. They even supply the smaller items like tea towels and oven gloves. They run a timely collection and delivery service within a 10-mile radius of the DE4 4HU postcode, operating on a reliable three-working-day turnaround.

  • Bespoke Welcome Packs:  First impressions matter immensely when a guest unlocks the door, and guests are always thrilled to discover a welcome pack waiting for them! The Welcome Team has established great trading relationships with local suppliers to provide fabulous welcome packs that showcase the best of Derbyshire. Your guests could walk into a kitchen stocked with an authentic Bakewell Pudding, fresh local bread, and fresh milk. They can even include ground coffee from Peak Bean and boxes of Derbyshire tea, giving visitors an immediate taste of the area.

  • Reliable Maintenance: Like any home, a holiday cottage can have breakages and faults at any time. The Welcome Team has a flexible maintenance crew on hand to deal with sudden emergency repairs, like a loose toilet seat or a jammed lock. They can also take care of the larger, seasonal jobs during the quieter months, such as interior decorating and touch ups, or even putting up those all-important Christmas decorations!

They simply step into your shoes, dealing with all bookings and queries so you can switch off and relax.

The company also runs a fantastic initiative where they collect left-over, non-perishable foods from departing guests and donate them directly to local food banks.

The Welcome Team takes its environmental responsibilities seriously, integrating green practices into their daily routines, protecting The Peak District landscape around them. They use eco-friendly cleaning products where possible, design their laundry routes to keep mileage and carbon emissions down and purchase eco-friendly appliances where possible.

In Spring 2025, they achieved the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark (EQM), a rigorous certification proving that a business looks after the local environment, supports the economy, and invests in the community. They were also awarded Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable award at the 2025 Visit Peak District Awards. More recently, they were named the “Outstanding Newcomer to the EQM Scheme” at the awards.
