Outdoor Rock Climbing

Guided Walks and Challenges
Peak Lines offers a captivating selection of guided walks that showcase the very best of the Peak District. Their guided walks are a great way to discover the best of the Peak District with the guidance of professional mountain leaders. With a range of shorter walks ideal for families, bespoke hill walking days and more challenging hikes, there’s something to suit everyone!
Each of Peak Lines’ walks can be offered to single hikers or private groups making them great for those looking for a guide while in the area, or for larger walking groups.
The Roaches, Lud’s Church and Hen Cloud – A 10-mile route, which can be adapted for families with children, with varied landscapes from a deep gorge to far-reaching views over a reservoir.
9 Edges Walk – A more strenuous walk, taking you 21-miles over Derwent, Stanage, Burbage Upper, Burbage Lower, Froggatt, Curbar, Baslow, Gardoms, and Birchen Edges. A fabulous Peak District experience!
The Edale Skyline – A 21 mile circular walk taking you through the heart of the Peak District, over Mam Tor, Kinder Low, Brown Knoll, and Win Hill.
Navigation Courses
Peak Lines empowers visitors to confidently explore the Peak District on their own by offering a range of comprehensive navigation courses, with strategies to simplify map reading and help you become independent and confident. As with all Peak Lines’ courses, the courses will always be tailored to suit your needs.
The courses can be booked for private groups of 4-6 people (depending on complexity).
Beginner Navigation Course 1 – A one-day course to get you started with the fundamentals of navigating so that you feel confident walking independently in lowland terrain.
Beginner Navigation Course 2 – A one day course teaching you to plan a route accurately, estimate how long it will take and measure distance accurately, as well as develop an understanding of how the terrain affects planning.
Navigation Course for Families – A great day out in the countryside with a difference! Learn how to read a map, identify different features, use a compass to measure distance and lots of other useful tips, to ensure many fun-filled walks together.
Intermediate Navigation Course – Teaching a comprehensive use of your compass, including taking bearings, pacing, contours and more.
Preparation for Mountain Navigation – Kinder Scout – This fabulous day out on a featureless plateau will challenge the accuracy of your bearings and give you the skills and confidence to use your navigation all around the UK!
