The Lighthouse Barn at Uppermoor Farm is an extravagant, luxurious property offering accommodation for between 16-20 people, with a state-of-the-art entertainment space, perfect for celebrating all occasions in the most lavish style, including special birthdays, anniversaries, hen weekends. It’s also an ideal venue for hosting business conferences, yoga retreats and meetings too.
The excitement starts as you cruise down the sweeping driveway, through stunning countryside. The nautical palette with hues of blues, aqua and sand, together with numerous lighthouse and costal images, give a crisp, clean, contemporary feel, all complemented with the greens of the surrounding countryside that wrap around the whole barn. These views can be enjoyed through the vast number of windows which allow natural light to flood in, enhancing everything that The Lighthouse Barn has to offer.
The Lighthouse Barn has a striking open-plan entertainment space, boasting an internal sound system with six speakers, sure to enhance the mood! The impressive vaulted ceiling with ambient spotlighting, the contemporary paintwork complemented by timber features, together with numerous windows and French doors, make this an incredible space to enjoy at any time!
There is a large oak table with seating for 16, perfect for formal business meetings or the most fabulous dining space for your occasion, together with an additional circular table seating 4 when numbers are increased to 20 guests. So, if you intend to cook as a group, order in takeaways, enjoy traditional canapés, or even bring in your own chef, there is sure to be plenty of space for everyone!
The Orangery has an incredibly large circular seating area with plenty of comfortable rattan furniture to enable friends and family to enjoy time together. There’s also an inviting wood burning stove, perfect for the cooler months, although with modern underfloor heating you’ll be warm and toasty all year round. There are also two televisions so you can watch your favourite shows or get the karaoke started! The fabulous large arched window takes centre stage with views out to the raised terrace area and surrounding Peak District Countryside. The seating can easily be moved aside to create a fantastic dance floor or yoga studio.
Running alongside the entertainment space is a contemporary galley kitchen, which has been fully equipped to accommodate larger groups, with not one but two dishwashers, a large American style fridge freezer, a large range cooker, two microwaves, and that all important wine chiller! Here you will also find all essential appliances, cookware, and glassware, as well as a stylish Denby Pottery dinner set for up to 20 guests. The Lighthouse Barn really is the place to entertain and celebrate!
There are a total of six bedrooms at The Lighthouse Barn, accommodating 16 guests. Many of the rooms can sleep 3 people and can be adjusted to accommodate your needs. For groups of between 16-20 people, or if you require additional bedrooms, you can combine the nearby Coach House to give a further two bedrooms, both ensuite. This is just a very short walk away from the main Lighthouse Barn.

There are two open plan staircases at The Lighthouse Barn, one leading off to two triple bedrooms with large Velux windows opening out to enjoy the amazing south facing lawn and the far reaching views of the stunning Peak District countryside beyond:
In addition, it is possible to add two put-up beds in two of the rooms if needed, to accommodate 2 additional guests. On booking, please discuss your requirements with the helpful host, who will ensure each room is presented just as you require. (Put-up beds are at an optional extra cost).
The Lighthouse Barn’s nearby Coach House is reserved exclusively for those hiring The Lighthouse Barn (or its sister property, The Peak District Holiday Cottage). The Coach House provides extra space for up to 4 more guests in a large double room and a spacious twin room, enabling The Lighthouse Barn to sleep up to 20 guests in 8 bedrooms, all ensuite.
This wonderful small barn has a lovely country feel and the same luxury and comfort as The Lighthouse Barn, offering open plan living all on the ground floor. With its own lounge and kitchen, with wood-burning stove, it has all you could need for your additional guests, who often simply use this for sleeping and showering, and spend the majority of the time socialising with the main group.
Leading directly outside to a main courtyard with a tranquil water feature and fragrant roses, it’s a beautiful addition to The Lighthouse Barn.
The outdoor space at The Lighthouse Barn is truly remarkable. The huge south facing lawn is popular with guests who enjoy outdoor games, rounders, or even your own mini Olympics. A terrace wraps around the barn, giving guests the choice to follow the sun or keep in the shade, with ample comfortable rattan furniture to move wherever you choose, so that you can enjoy the mesmerising countryside views in smaller groups if you wish, or altogether in a large group before retiring to socialise indoors.
The Lighthouse Barn is surrounded by open countryside, just one and a half miles away from the pretty little village of Parwich, with beautiful stone houses and a village green at its centre. There is a footpath starting right from doorstep of The Lighthouse Barn into Parwich, or alternatively it’s a pretty country walk down a winding leafy lane into the village itself.
There is also a delightful walk you can enjoy from Parwich to Tissington, another delightful little village with duck pond, tea rooms, a small selection of independent shops and a magnificent manor house.
There are two excellent cycling trails close to The Lighthouse Barn, where you can enjoy miles of traffic-free walking or cycling. The Tissington Trail leads to Parsley Hay in the north, near Hartington, or towards Ashbourne in the south, and the High Peak Trail will take you to High Peak Junction close to Cromford. Likewise, there is a network of footpaths leading over the beautiful Peak District Countryside, stopping off at various pretty villages with country pubs and tea rooms.
For those who fancy a fun-filled day, nearby Matlock Bath with its arcades, bars and cable cars, is just a 30 minute drive away, and the popular market town of Bakewell is just 20 minutes away, where you’ll find a great selection of independent shops and eateries.
